World Series Cup

†SRI LANKA v WEST INDIES 1984-85

At Sydney, January 17 (day/night). West Indies won by 65 runs. Sri Lanka's inexperience was exposed in every department. Lloyd having won the toss, Greenidge and Haynes took advantage of loose bowling and fielding to put on 128 from 28 overs, and Richardson, Richards and Logie also enjoyed themselves. Once Sri Lanka had lost four wickets for 64 the match was as good as over, although Dias again demonstrated his class and Karnain hit effectively at the end.

Man of the Match: C. G. Greenidge. Attendance: 9,179.
