Fourth One-Day International

SRI LANKA v PAKISTAN 1994-95

At Sinhalese Sports Club, Colombo, August 22. Pakistan won by five wickets. Toss: Pakistan.

Two additional one-day games were arranged in place of the Test and gave Sri Lanka a chance to recover their unbeaten record in home limited-overs series, though the Pakistan camp argued that they were not part of the rubber which they had already won 2-1. But another comfortable victory for Pakistan, who seemed untroubled by an eight-day lay-off during the curfew, made the question irrelevant. Sri Lanka lost five for 55 in the first 19 overs, with Akram Raza having a hand in three of the dismissals. They might have been in even worse straits but for a superb 74 from captain Arjuna Ranatunga. A target of 175 hardly tested Pakistan. Several of their main batsmen got out after making good starts, before Salim Malik saw them home, despite fading light and humid conditions, with his third straight fifty of the series.

Man of the Match: Akram Raza.
