The first scheduled day of official international cricket in Singapore lasted only ten overs. Ranatunga had made the most of winning the toss and Pakistan were three down when rain ended play. The match was abandoned and a new one started the following day. Under an ICC ruling, both matches are now deemed to count as internationals.
