India v Pakistan 1999-2000

Toss: India.

A tremendous all-round performance by 20-year-old Abdur Razzaq left India marooned without a point at the bottom of the table and half their games played. First, capitalising on a gem-like 67 from Ijaz Ahmed, he took Pakistan to 262 for seven with an unbeaten 70 off 52 balls, including two sixes and four fours. Next, he claimed five for 48 as India tried to beat this challenging total in only 48 overs. As if misjudging the pitch and inserting Pakistan were not bad enough, they were fined for their slow over-rate. Tendulkar and Ganguly made a good start, but Razzaq had Ganguly caught at cover, soon accounted for Laxman and had the distinction of bowling Tendulkar - who hit ten fours - for the second match in succession.

Man of the Match: Abdur Razzaq.

Attendance: 6,128.
