Third One-Day International

New Zealand v West Indies 1999-2000

At Napier, January 6 (day/night). New Zealand won by four wickets. Toss: West Indies.

Another poor performance with the bat saw West Indies fall some 50 runs short of par. Once more Cairns bowled a superb new-ball spell, again dismissing Campbell with the first legitimate ball of the match, and Harris tied up the middle order. When Harris caught and bowled Lara, sixth out at 70, any hope of a competitive total was lost, though Perry batted sensibly for a maiden international fifty. Astle and Fleming launched the reply with 105 in 21 overs before Fleming guided his side home with more than 12 overs to spare.

Man of the Match: S. P. Fleming.
