Fourth One-Day International

New Zealand v West Indies 1999-2000

At WestpacTrust Stadium, Wellington, January 8, 9. New Zealand won by eight wickets. Toss: New Zealand.

The first international at Wellington's new stadium was blighted by bad weather and, after rain allowed less than 11 overs on the Saturday, the match was concluded on the reserve day. West Indies never came to terms with a sporting pitch against good bowling, of which Harris was the pick, and later they dropped vital catches, reprieving both Astle, in his 100th one-day international, and Twose before they were established. Their unbroken partnership of 149 was a New Zealand all-wicket record against West Indies - until they broke it two days later.

Man of the Match: C. Z. Harris.
