Younis Khan's cultured, unbeaten 87 from 91 balls, and a fifty from the emerging right-hander Misbah-ul-Haq, made victory a cakewalk for Pakistan. Despite a hard-working 59 from the opener Otieno, Kenya's 179 after batting first never seemed enough. Though the Pakistanis endured a characteristic wobble at the top of the order, with both openers out inside the first four overs, Younis and Misbah put on an unbroken stand of 127, closed out the game and ensured Pakistan would reach the final.
