All the players rested for the Second Test returned to Sri Lanka's line-up, including Aravinda de Silva, whose last one-day international had been in New Zealand 18 months earlier. Earlier, Bangladesh reached 226, their highest one-day total against Sri Lanka, thanks largely to a stand of 90 between 18-year-old Tushar Imran and the captain, Khaled Masud.
