Pakistan v Bangladesh

Asia Cup 2008

At Karachi, July 4, 2008 (day/night). Pakistan won by ten wickets. Pakistan 2 pts. Toss: Bangladesh.

A dead rubber, and a dead duck: Pakistan won in little more than half the scheduled playing time, after shooting Bangladesh down for a woeful 115. Iftikhar Anjum's first over cost 13, including three fours from Alok Kapali, but his last nine leaked only seven runs, as he became only the second Pakistani, after Sarfraz Nawaz against England at Manchester in 1978, to send down six maidens in a one-day international. Salman Butt and Nasir Jamshed - who reached his second successive half-century, and still had not been dismissed in single figures in nine international innings - knocked off the target in less than 20 overs.

Man of the Match: Abdur Rauf.
