Sri Lanka v Bangladesh, 2012-13

At Pallekele, March 31, 2013. Twenty20 international: Sri Lanka won by 17 runs. Sri Lanka 198-5 (20 overs) (M. D. K. J. Perera 64, A. D. Mathews 30*, B. M. A. J. Mendis 37); ‡Bangladesh 181-7 (20 overs) (Mohammad Ashraful 43, Mushfiqur Rahim 39, Mahmudullah 31). T20I debuts: A. K. Perera; Shamsur Rahman. MoM: M. D. K. J. Perera. With four senior players rested, Jeewan Mendis was the only Sri Lankan as old as 30 - but the youngsters set up a comfortable victory. Kushal Perera scored a blistering maiden international fifty, launching five fours and four sixes, and routinely planting his front foot outside off stump to crash bowlers through midwicket. Sri Lanka's middle-order all-rounders followed up with their own flurry of boundaries. Mohammad Ashraful began Bangladesh's reply briskly, and hit Tissara Perera for 16 in three deliveries before, in the same over, he was given lbw to a ball which hit him outside leg. After his demise, Bangladesh simply had too much to do.
