1st Twenty20 International, Pallekele

New Zealand v Sri Lanka, 2013-14

At Pallekele, November 21, 2013 (floodlit). Sri Lanka won by eight wickets. Toss: Sri Lanka. Twenty20 international debut: R. L. B. Rambukwella.
The monsoon finally allowed an uninterrupted match, and Sri Lanka showed why they were top of the Twenty20 rankings. New Zealand dipped to 93 for five in the 15th over, as Chandimal thoughtfully managed a varied attack which included the 22-year-old off-spinner Ramith Rambukwella. Ronchi and McCullum added 45 in 4.5 overs to ensure a reasonable total - but, despite the early loss of Jayawardene, Sri Lanka rarely looked troubled.
Man of the Match: M. D. K. J. Perera.
