Zimbabwe recorded their first series triumph of any kind since their opponents' last visit in 2011, prompting an emotional Mushfiqur Rahim to announce his resignation as Bangladesh captain. Brian Vitori marked his return to one-day colours after 15 months by removing Mohammad Ashraful and Jahurul Islam with consecutive balls in his second over, but Nasir and Mahmudullah responded with feisty half-centuries. Sibanda's second one-day international hundred secured Zimbabwe's 2-1 victory.
