This was the first of Ireland's three matches in the Nagico Super50 competition (see Domestic Cricket in the West Indies, page 1134). Ramnaresh Sarwan smashed ten fours and four sixes in 62 balls, as Guyana scored 102 off their last seven overs; Ireland slid to 27-4 in their ninth, and could not find a way back.
