8.3 to KA Edwards, Edwards worked over again. Lovely bowling from Anderson as he beats a loose forward prod with an inswinger. Done like a kipper and Edwards' problems continue.. 26/2 14.3 to DM Bravo, and the moves works first ball! Loose drive from Bravo at a full, wide, delivery, and he gives a catch to second slip where Swann holds on. Another giveaway from West Indies, but good planning from England's bowlers.. 42/3 | ||||||||||

3.2 to AB Barath, gone! There's the first of the day. Back of a length, Barath forces off the back foot and Anderson grabs a superb one-handed take at third slip, stick out his left hand towards second slip. The catchers have moved up a pace and that showed outstanding reflexes. Bit of weak shot from Barath who could have left that delivery.. 9/1 18.2 to KOA Powell, this time Powell doesn't get away with it, edging a good length delivery straight to third slip. He'd played patiently and could probably have left that but England have well and truly prized the lid off the can now. Anderson's been involved in all four wickets, by the way, though he almost shelled that catch, the ball popping out of the hands before being clutched to his chest. 63/4 | ||||||||||

48.3 to D Ramdin, bowled him! Bresnan gets the sought-after reward for his efforts. The ball seamed back a touch, maybe a bit too quick for Ramdin and he played back, failed to get his bat down, the ball clipping the top of off via the pad. Ramdin done. 136/6 100.5 to DJG Sammy, and this time Sammy's adventure costs him, picking out Pietersen at deep square leg. The captain departs after making a rollicking ton, trying to fetch Bresnan's bouncer from outside off but lofting high into the clear blue sky. England probably deserved a bit of luck after several near misses, as Sammy walks off to polite, well-earned applause. 340/7 102.2 to MN Samuels, pitched up, slashes hard and gone! Anderson claims the catch and Marlon misses out on that double he had promised. He was clearly trying to force the pace, aiming a big boomer over cover but slicing to gully. West Indies lose their second centurion and Bresnan's figures get another slight glossing. 341/8 106.5 to KAJ Roach, gone! Bresnan has his fourth, fluffing his figures nicely, as Roach pushes away from his body at a good-length delivery and it is well held by Strauss diving to his right low at first slip. 360/9 | ||||||||||

45.3 to S Chanderpaul, tossed up, pitches on the stumps, beats the bat and hits the back leg. Rauf says no but England review it. Swann is convinced. Is it hitting off? The height is okay and there's no bat involved. They've got him, the decision is overturned! It pitched on off and straightened, would have hit about three-quarters of the way up. Swann has his first Test wicket at Trent Bridge and England have got their man. 125/5 109.2 to S Shillingford, job done. Shillingford has a charge at Swann who spears it wider and quicker outside off. It beats the swing and Prior whips off the bails. Credit to Swann for out-thinking the tailender.. 370/10 | ||||||||||

80.4 to IR Bell, Huge appeal for lbw, given not out by Aleem Dar, and we have another review. Looks close. A full delivery angling and he plays across the line. First thing, it's not a no-ball. Phew. This looks good for West Indies. No bat, has it struck him in line? Three reds on the replay and Bell is gone. Well done Kemar, excellent start to his spell and West Indies hit back again. 300/4 86.1 to JM Bairstow, and the short-ball working over does for Bairstow! Roach fires one in at the body again, YJB tries to tuck it off his hips but gets tangled up and only manages to loop a leading edge to mid-on. Seemed a little bit early on the shot ... Has a fatal flaw been discovered in England's new No. 6?. 308/5 | ||||||||||

17.4 to AN Cook, well, well, Cook hasn't cashed in on his double reprieve, feathering a feisty, rising delivery through to the keeper. They check the side-on replay anyway but Rampaul was safe and Cook departs for a charmed, rather than charming, 24. 43/1 34.4 to IJL Trott, length ball, seaming back in and hit on the pad. Dar gives it out but Trott calls for the review ... Hawk Eye has it clipping leg stump and that's enough. Trott was trying to play to leg around his front pad and just missed the ball, as he sometimes does early in his innings. So, an unexpected pothole wobbles England immediately after tea, Trott's brisk-ish innings comes to an end and Richard, for one, is smiling. 123/2 70.2 to KP Pietersen, big appeal, and given lbw! Pietersen has asked for the review. Is this sliding down leg? Looks good. Reverse swing again and Pietersen went to play to the on side. It's clipping leg and West Indies have broken through. Prior can be somewhat carefree when it comes to defending his wicket and this time he inside-edges a length ball through a pretty big gap, and 'pop' go the bails. It did come back a fair way off the pitch. That was a cameo, I reckon. 336/6 103.6 to AJ Strauss, no it wasn't Strauss' only flash for the over, the line works as he drives outside off stump and gets a thick edge. 118.6 to SCJ Broad, the breakthrough comes in low-key fashion, Broad top-edging a sweep/dab and the ball looping high enough for slip to run round to the leg side and take the catch. 121.2 to GP Swann, flighted, outside off and spinning in, beats Swann's forward push and Sammy take the catch - he thinks it is out but it's not given and West Indies go to the review. The ball spun back and went past the bat, hit the pad and deflected to slip. Swann was shaking his head but Hot Spot appears to have picked up a thin edge ... and decision is overturned, chalk another one up to DRS. 426/9 123.4 to JM Anderson, hit on the toe and that's out! It was full and on middle, Anderson simply didn't get his bat down in time. Samuels has wrapped up the England innings with two quick strikes and all that talk of the tail is a tale that no longer needs to be told. 428/10 | ||||||||||

2.1 to KOA Powell, gone! First breakthrough as Powell drags a drive into the stumps. It was up there enticing the shot, Powell couldn't resist but the footwork wasn't really there and the ball cannoned into his leg stump off a thick inside edge. 5/1 4.2 to AB Barath, huge, long appeal for lbw. He's given. Will he review? He runs out of time, I think, and is on his way. There were two noises, but that was ball clipping both pads and the replay shows it was plumb. Another excellent delivery from Anderson that nipped back in and beat him for pace. Anderson really outstanding.. 14/2 50.4 to KAJ Roach, massive appeal for lbw and given not by Rauf. England review straight away. He went a long way across his stumps. This is mighty close. Taking leg stump flush on this gets overturned. Reward for Anderson and a breakthrough shortly before lunch for England. 139/8 60.1 to R Rampaul, and Anderson has got him! It was short of a length, angled across and Rampaul stepped away, dangled his bat out and edged straight to third slip. 165/10 | ||||||||||

16.5 to DM Bravo, round the wicket, stays low and gone, leg-before! Bravo asks for the review but it looked pretty plumb ... Yep, Rauf raises his finger for the second time and West Indies are four down. Bresnan pitched it straight and on a length, Bravo stayed back and was caught playing across the line - would have hit middle halfway up. England's lucky charm strikes and is now just one shy of 50 wickets in Tests .... 45/4 24.4 to D Ramdin, attacking the stumps and trapped in front! England claim another one before the close and Bresnan punches the air in jubilation. It was a good length ball that homed in on Ramdin from outside off, maybe beaten for pace too and hit him right on the knee roll, no review and off walks the wicketkeeper. 61/5 24.6 to KA Edwards, got him this time, Edwards all at sea! Will they review? No! He played back again, got his bat caught on his pad as he tried to bring it down and was hit right in front. Height might have been a question but Hawk Eye had it clipping the bails (and therefore umpire's call) so the DRS wouldn't have saved Edwards. He didn't look up for it and slopes off with another single figure score to his name. 61/6 41.4 to DJG Sammy, gone! Is that the breakthrough? Sammy reviews. Dead-eye straight from Bresnan and it's given on the field. Hits the back leg, this is close. And, indeed, it's just shaving the top of the bails so it stays out.. 110/7 | ||||||||||
