A fractured left thumb has ruled Bhuvneshwar Kumar out of the T20 series against Australia. Rishi Dhawan, who is part of India's ODI squad, will stay on in Australia as Bhuvneshwar's replacement.

Bhuvneshwar picked up the injury while trying to stop a David Warner straight drive off his own bowling during the fourth ODI in Canberra. The injury forced him out of the fifth ODI in Sydney, with India picking the debutant Jasprit Bumrah in his place.

Ajinkya Rahane also sat out the Sydney ODI with an injury, having split his webbing while fielding in Canberra. Gurkeerat Singh has been named as cover for Rahane in the T20 squad.

The three-match T20 series will begin on Tuesday in Adelaide.

Highly disappointed with the recent pitches (roads) irrespective of the countries. I believe this may be because of IPL introduction. We Indian spectators are the major reason for this drastic impact in cricket world. But as a cricket lover, I believe there should be a balance in the Pitch (Batting / Bowling). It can be either sipping / Seeming track, but should not be like road. ICC should have to respect the bowlers too, they are also players. It is making me to go back and search on youtube for the swing balls from Imran Khan / Wasim / Richard Hadly / Zaheer / Mcgrath etc now a days there is no pitch is helping / balancing the bowlers. very rare. Its no needs to be full bowling friendly, there should be a balance in cricket. How many cricket lovers are agree to this ? - Vivek from India.

After his heroics in the last ODI Pandey should be a certainty in the T 20 eleven for all 3 scheduled matches down under. I hope he has been included in the squad. Very sad that Axar Patel has not been part of the T 20 squad - he has to return without playing a single match.

i not think those flat pitch support any bowlers saying that bowlers should be smart and do variation and pitch right line and length it's all about batting maximize the total whatever can i am sure gonna be big scoring game or short any how good luck both teams let see how good skill level adapting to situation and passing winning score or getting winning score good luck both teams

lot of folks commenting about Rishi and Gurkeerat's ability, they are new not been given enough chances, Rishi batted twice and out once for 9 and other time not out. Also they have got a chance only when they had 20-30 balls to spare. Look at one of worlds best allrounder Fulkener batting stats during this series, so you can expect miracles. Give them fair number of chances before kick them out. Same rules applies to any new commer playing for any nation.

Blessing in disguise. B Kumar has been nothing but disappointment for the team and fans alike in recent times. I feel he is done with international cricket. Unfortunately, his replacement Rishi Dhawan doesn't cut either, based on his showing thus far.
