Bruce Collins QC, Dr Harry Harinath and Mark Taylor have been elected as the three new directors who will represent New South Wales in the board of Cricket Australia for the 2004-05 season. This was decided in the meeting of the NSW cricket board.
Since retiring from the game Taylor has worked as a commentator on Channel Nine. Reacting to the success he said, "I'm delighted to be joining the Cricket Australia Board as a Director. Now that I've been given this opportunity I'm hoping to make a contribution and help ensure that Australian cricket continues to be successful."
Bob Horsell, the chairman of NSW Cricket, was unsuccessful in the ballot. Horsell served as a director of Cricket Australia since 1997. Mark Taylor joins another former Australian captain, Allan Border, as a director of Cricket Australia.
Brian Freedman and Bill Jocelyn are the other outgoing Directors from the Cricket Australia Board.
