Australia's poor behaviour during the third Test has continued with Glenn McGrath reported for an incident at the end of the 13th over of South Africa's second innings today. Following Brett Lee's reprimand for showing dissent on day one, McGrath was charged with a level one offence for "using language that was obscene, offensive or insulting and/or the making of an obscene gesture".
McGrath had Herschelle Gibbs dropped by Shane Warne from the first ball of the over, and Gibbs finished it with consecutive boundaries to frustrate the bowler, who was reported by Aleem Dar, Billy Bowden and the third umpire Bob Parry. A hearing was due to be held after play today chaired by Chris Broad, the match referee. The Australians were expected to be represented by Ricky Ponting, Steve Bernard, the team manager, and McGrath.
