WA's best cricketers will dust off the cobwebs in one-day trial matches at Lilac Hill Park, Caversham, this Saturday, September 18 and Sunday, September 19, 1999.
The two 50 overs-a side contests will be the first hit-outs for many after a pre-season which began back in May. Others - like Western Warriors Rob Baker, Marcus North and Brad Oldroyd, and Australian under-19 Adam Voges - have just returned from winter in England, while Mark Atkinson is home from the Netherlands. Play is from 10am-5.30pm.

WA's state selectors will meet after the trial matches to choose sides to play a series of practice matches against Victoria, beginning with a three-day encounter at Tompkins Park, Melville, from Wednesday, September 22 to Friday, September 24.
WA then take on the Bushrangers in one-day matches at Cruickshank Sports Arena, Kalgoorlie (Sunday, Sept 26) and James Oval, UWA (Monday, Sept 27 and Tuesday, Sept 28). The Western Warriors squad, captain and vice-captain for season 1999-2000 will be announced at the WACA on Friday, October 1.
