Pakistan have left out Nasir Jamshed and Umar Amin from their ODI squad for the series against Sri Lanka in the UAE, and have brought in Sharjeel Khan and Haris Sohail as their like-for-like replacements.

Jamshed and Amin were part of the squad that beat South Africa 2-1 away last month - Pakistan's first bilateral ODI series victory against South Africa. Jamshed had scored 2 and 24 in the two matches he played, while Amin made 25 in his only appearance. Amin is part of the T20 squad for the ongoing series against Sri Lanka in the UAE.

Sharjeel made his international T20 debut in a one-off encounter against Afghanistan on December 9. He followed that up with a solid performance in the first T20I against Sri Lanka in Dubai on Wednesday, scoring 34 off 31 balls, as the hosts wrapped up a three-wicket victory.

Sohail is also a relatively new face for Pakistan, having made his T20I debut against West Indies on July 28. He has gone on to add four ODIs to his career, with the last of them against Zimbabwe on August 27.

Fast bowlers Umar Gul and Mohammad Irfan were not considered for selection because they are recuperating from injuries.

Squad: Misbah-ul-Haq (capt), Mohammad Hafeez, Sharjeel Khan, Ahmed Shehzad, Sohaib Maqsood, Haris Sohail, Asad Shafiq, Umar Akmal, Shahid Afridi, Saeed Ajmal, Abdur Rehman, Junaid Khan, Anwar Ali, Sohail Tanvir, Bilawal Bhatti

Rifkhan: I completely disagree with you, Hafeez is a proper ODI batsman, you might not know that Hafeez has been involved several times in best batting partnerships, which proves he is good.

hafeez is nt sure batsman he is not top order batsman he is 6/7,one down player is maqsood or u.akmal is match, this two batsman is very intelligent player my xi (1.sehzad,2.sarjeel,3.u.akmal/maqsood,4.misbah,5.haris sohail,6.u.akmal/maqsood,7.hafeez,8.afridi,9.tanvir,10.ajmal,11.junaid

This will be if we don't lose early wicket......1.Sharjeel K., 2.A.Shehzad, 3.S.Maqsood, 4.Haris Sohail 5.Misbah, 6.U.Akmal, 7.S.Afridi, 8.B.Bhatti, 9.Anwar A./S.Tanvir 10.S.Ajmal, 11.Junaid K. 12.M.Hafeez......,,|,,,If we lose early wicket then Misbah should come on 4 and Haris @5.

- I do not really see a place for Hafeez in this XI.

- We are keeping too many all rounders in the squad. I do not think Anwar Ali can do much at international level. To be honest, his domestic record is mediocre as well.

My XI:

Sharjeel Khan, Ahmed Shahzad, Haris Sohail, Shoaib Maqsood, Misbah, Umer A, Afridi, Bilawal B, Sohail Tanvir, Saeed Ajmal, Junaid Khan

I put Shoaib at #4 because Haris Sohail has a better technique then him against fast bowlers and he can really play spinners well. I do not see a place for Hafeez in this line up. Shoaib Maqsood can do a bit of bowling so give him a couple of overs if you need some help.

There is no place for Asad Shafiq and Anwar Ali in this squad. Bring in Zain Abbas or Babar Azam and Sadaf Hussain.

Nice to see Haris in the squad. I hope he gets fair number of matches.

I am very surprised SADAF Hussain is not given an opportunity here...For a second I thought he was from Sind/Baluchistan/NWFP...but the guy is from your province....the great PUNJAB...and he is still being overlooked. I dont understand...shocked. You already have 80% of the players in the team from our great province of PUNJAB...why not make it 90%.....come on Punjabis, raise your hand...scream injustice...revolution....yeaaa...come on Punjabis...you can do it, you can get a team compromising of all from Punjab...you already get....aaahhh forget it...one thing at a time, lets make Punjabistan, if not then at least our cricket team should be all Punjabis.....come on knuckle heads, come on you can do it...

Misbah need to force hafeez to bat down the order and use Maqsood at 3. Hafeez is a free wicket for fast bowlers at no 3. I am not sure why Pakistani management can not work this out. He is good spinner that does not mean he can bat wherever he wish to. Use him as bowling alrounder if he does not agree make him sit on the bench. We have enough talent.

I think the selection is fair keeping in mind talents. We should have added M.talha as a fast bowler. We have to make sure that our bowlers can bat and fielding of the player should be kept in mind. Now we have found new attacking players, my ODI side is shehzad, Sarjeel, Asad Shafiq, Shoaib maqsood, Misbah, Hafiz', Umer Akmal, Afridi, Anwar Ali, Junaid khan and Saeed Ajmal. We should should start with Junaid khan and Hafiz as opening bowlers. Bowling change and field placing should be as per player of opposing team. I missed Shohail Tanveer because he is regular player. We should try Anwar Ali and Bilawal Bhatti. We should prepare our team with help of video analysis of opposing players strength and weakness.

Lanka will won odi series because Pak players like hafeez umar akmal are not supporting misbah and he want to break the captaincy of Misbah .

Here's my choice for the Pakistani test XI: Khurram, Shan, Fawad, Younis, Asad, Misbah, Sarfaraz, Abdurrehman, Gul, Ajmal and Junaid. And for the reserves, Sharjeel, Shehzad, Sohaib, Umar Akmal, Raza Hasan, Ehsan Adil, Bhatti and Anwar Ali.
