McCullum's many records at Hagley Oval

54 Balls required by Brendon McCullum to complete his century - the least in Test history. He went past the previous record of 56, by Viv Richards against England in St John's in 1985-86 and by Misbah-ul-Haq against Australia in Abu Dhabi in 2014-15.

This is only the fourth instance of a batsman having a strike rate of 150 or more in an innings of 100 or more runs (where balls faced have been recorded).

His tally of 17 sixes is the most for him at any venue in Tests and fifth-highest for a batsman at a particular venue.
