Amit Mishra's four-for wrecks Punjab

A sublime four-for from Amit Mishra helped Delhi register their first win of the 2016 edition of the Indian Twenty20 competition, as they mauled Punjab by an impressive eight-wicket margin in the Capital on Friday.
Delhi's captain, Zaheer Khan, looked to make amends for a poor start to the competition as he opted to bowl first on a "slow surface". Punjab, also having failed to register a win, looked to their openers Murali Vijay and Manan Vohra to provide early fireworks.
However, the experienced Vijay was run out in the second over of the match, following a mix up sparked by a dropped catch at extra cover. Vohra and Shaun Marsh then added 29 runs for the second wicket, before Mishra came into the fray.
The legspinner didn't waste time and struck - with the first ball of his 100th match of the competition - to dismiss Marsh, who rushed down the track and got beaten in the flight, for 13. Captain David Miller came to the fore and looked to restore order, but Mishra - from the first ball of his second over - foxed Miller, who misread the googly, and was trapped lbw for just nine.
Miller's departure brought the hard hitting Glenn Maxwell to the fore but even he failed to pass Mishra's spin-test and fell off his third ball for zero. The triple blow wrecked Punjab's quality top order and it exposed its relatively inexperienced middle order.
Vohra was a constant at the other end while wickets fell. However, he failed to read a Mishra googly in the 11th over and was bowled for a 24-ball 32. Mishra ended with figures of four for 11 in the three overs he bowled. He conceded just one four in his spell that yielded 13 dot balls. Punjab managed just 111 in their innings.
Quinton de Kock remained unbeaten on a 42-ball 59, and powered Delhi's chase, which they completed with 39 balls to spare.
"I think nothing much to say. Just trying to take wickets, I got success, really happy today. Wicket was on the slower side, little effort needed to spin the ball. I wanted [to bowl the fourth over] but I supported the captain. We worked hard on batting and bowling and fielding, and it came out very well on this game. We hope to do good work in later matches too," Mishra said.
"It was required. The win was required for us. Happy with the way we put our efforts on the field. It was a good toss to win," Zaheer Khan says, "The energy out there was fantastic. We want that young energy, you want to see that energy on the field and very happy with the way the boys threw themselves around. We kept taking wickets, Mishra was really good. We want to build momentum at the right time, let everyone express themselves freely. We are playing RCB in a couple of days, and this will will definitely help"
