Dominic Cork has been fined £1500 for making abusive remarks at the end of the C&G Trophy after his Lancashire team lost to Sussex. He will also have to pay costs of £1000 for the hearing in which he was found guilty of abusing a doping control official after the final at Lord's, on 26th August.
Cork said that his remarks were made when he was in a highly emotional state following Lancashire's defeat and apologised for his actions.
While the panel, comprising David Gabbitass, Alan Wadey and Ian Smith, accepted his apology, they found that he had belittled the official in the presence of his team-mates and so imposed the fine and suspended him from the first 50-over competitive match of 2007.
