Wisden's review of the only T20I, England v Sri Lanka in England, 2011

At Bristol, June 25. Sri Lanka won by nine wickets. Toss: Sri Lanka. Twenty20 international debuts: J. W. Dernbach, S. R. Patel; R. A. S. Lakmal, B. M. A. J. Mendis.
The first handover of England's three-way captaincy era produced a heavy defeat for Broad, up against another first-time international skipper in Dilshan's latest stand-in, Kandamby. Broad's reign began boldly, with the omission of Bell - who had just averaged 331 in the Tests - while Lumb and Kieswetter resumed the opening partnership that had served England well during their victorious World Twenty20 campaign of 2010. But both were out slogging in the first three overs. Although England rallied through Pietersen and Morgan, who shared 12 of their side's 13 boundaries, their demise within nine balls was the prelude to some tame lower-order batting, including the careless run-out of Patel in his first international for almost two and a half years. Sri Lanka could afford the early loss of Jayasuriya, shoehorned in for political reasons five days short of his 42nd birthday; in the first half of his international farewell, he provided Dernbach with his maiden England wicket. But Jayawardene struck Woakes for four, six and four at the start of the third over, and a flat England performance was put out of its misery with 16 balls to spare.
