The Lions eased to a 10-wicket win over the Warriors at Johannesburg as the visitors' batting succumbed in just 45.2 overs. Garnett Kruger was again in the wickets, taking his match haul to 11 for 90, with 4 for 46 second time around. Only three batsmen managed to pass 20, Arno Jacobs top-scoring with 31. The Lions' openers knocked off the 33 runs needed in swift style to complete a convincing performance, which earned them 18.32 points.
The Dolphins also sealed an emphatic success, thumping the Eagles by 10 wickets at Bloemfontein. Dale Benkestein's 117 extended the lead to 156 despite a career-best 6 for 96 by Ryan McLaren. At 96 for 1 the Eagles were making a decent fist of a fightback, but a dramatic slump then left them floundering of 113 for 7. Imraan Khan backed-up his century by taking three wickets with his offspin. A stand of 71 between Johann van der Wath and Cliff Deacon meant the Dolphins had to bat again but the target of 31 took just 39 balls.
Cape Cobras are well on course for a resounding victory against the Titans following a century from Herschelle Gibbs and another four-wicket burst from Vernon Philander. Gibbs powered on to 133, after resuming on 56, and along with some useful performances from the middle order they set the Titans an imposing 430 to chase. Alviro Petersen and Andre Seymore began positively with a stand of 53, but Monde Zondeki struck to open the floodgates. Philander then followed his 4 for 6 in the first innings with another incisive burst, his scalps including the important wicket of Martin van Jaarsveld.
