In a Twenty20 match to raise funds for the Christchurch earthquake appeal, Richard Levi set up the South African innings with 63 in 32 balls. Lonwabo Tsotsobe removed Canterbury's top three with a hat-trick, and they were 63-7 before Matt McEwan, playing his second senior match, on his 21st birthday, added 59 in five overs with 20-year-old Matt Henry, who hit five sixes in 17 balls.
