The slip
This was literal. In the seventh over of the innings, when M Vijay went to sweep Pragyan Ojha he had to stretch a bit as the ball was tossed up wide outside off. As he stretched, the back foot gave away a little, and he slipped. Still he managed to go ahead with the shot, placed it well, and got up to take a single. He managed a smile as he crossed Ojha, but if you look at the freeze shot a few frames ago, those eyes suggested he had jumped from the plane but couldn't quite place the parachute string.
The warning
In the 13th over of the first innings, Nigel Llong called up Rohit Sharma for a chat by the end of which Rohit was seen signalling to his boundary fieldsman. Turned out the umpires had spotted the fielders bouncing the ball hard into the practice pitches, sending the ball to the keeper on the second bounce. It helps you get any little reverse swing you can get in 20-over games, and can also help you make it soft.
Later in that over, Dwayne Smith was seen throwing almost on the full.
The pullout
We are not talking what Sahara did earlier in the day. It was R Ashwin stopping after his front foot landed. The non-striker was in the crease, the striker had not committed to any shot, and Ashwin went back to bowl. The next two balls, though, were sent back to the opposite ends of the ground: first Smith hit a flat six into the sight screen and then he paddled the next one to fine leg.
The reaction
When Dinesh Karthik was given out lbw off Ravindra Jadeja, he not only showed his bat to the umpire, he shouted at least three times: "bat, bat, bat". It seemed then that he got a rough decision, but the replay failed to show a clear edge.
