England v West Indies, 2013-14

Wisden's review of the second Twenty20 International, England v West Indies, 2013-14

15-Apr-2015
At Bridgetown, Barbados, March 11, 2014. West Indies won by five wickets. Toss: England. Twenty20 international debuts: M. M. Ali, S. D. Parry.
West Indies warmed up for their defence of the World Twenty20 by wrapping up this series with a game to spare, again outhitting England with considerable ease. While West Indies rushed to 58 for one in their powerplay, the tourists had managed only 30 for three. Buttler provided some respectability with his best Twenty20 score for England, but overall this was another substandard batting performance; the Jamaican Krishmar Santokie took four wickets with his mixture of boomeranging inswingers and cutters. Gayle and Dwayne Smith then peppered the crowd, hitting seven sixes between them, one more than England managed in total. Bopara conceded only ten runs in the middle of the innings - equalling England's most economical four-over spell in the format - and Bresnan took wickets with successive balls to massage some uncomfortable figures. But West Indies' explosive start meant they could afford a slip-up or two.
Man of the Match: K. Santokie.
