Zimbabwe v Afghanistan, 2015-16

Wisden's review of the second Twenty20 International, Zimbabwe v Afghanistan, 2015-16

15-Apr-2016
Second Twenty20 international At Bulawayo, October 28, 2015. Afghanistan won by five wickets. ‡Zimbabwe 190-7 (20 overs) (S. C. Williams 54, R. Mutumbami 43, E. Chigumbura 33); Afghanistan 191-5 (19.5 overs) (Usman Ghani 65, Gulbadeen Naib 56*). MoM: Gulbadeen Naib.
A confident Afghanistan won the 20-over series too, knocking off a big total with a ball to spare. Chibhabha had fallen to the second delivery of the day, but Williams spanked a 21-ball fifty. Zimbabwe's pacemen then tried a short-pitched assault, only for the 18-year-old opener Usman Ghani took them on; he slapped three sixes in his 45-ball 65, although a couple of mis-hooks only just evaded the wicketkeeper. Gulbadeen Naib's inventive strokeplay brought him a maiden T20I fifty as well, and his ability to find unlikely gaps behind the wicket carried Afghanistan to victory.
