Zimbabwe v Pakistan, 2015-16

Wisden's review of the first Twenty20 International, Zimbabwe v Pakistan, 2015-16

15-Apr-2016
First Twenty20 international At Harare, September 27, 2015. Pakistan won by 13 runs. ‡Pakistan 136-8 (20 overs) (Shoaib Malik 35, Mohammad Rizwan 33*; C. J. Chibhabha 3-18); Zimbabwe 123-9 (20 overs) (E. Chigumbura 31; Imad Wasim 4-11). MoM: Imad Wasim. T20I debuts: L. M. Jongwe (Zimbabwe); Imran Khan, jun. (Pakistan).
On a dreadfully slow pitch, Shoaib Malik provided the only batting flair, and even he managed only two fours and a heaved six from 24 balls. Mohammad Rizwan struggled, but his runs proved important. Elton Chigumbura's bowling changes were peculiar: his seamers claimed 5-35 in seven overs, the spinners 2-67 in nine. Zimbabwe dipped to 90-8 in the 16th, although Chigumbura gave them hope before he was run out in the final over. Slow left-armer Imad Wasim opened the bowling and returned 4-0-11-4, then added two run-outs.
