Chairman of the Association of Cricket Coaches, Mike Fearnley, collapsed and
died while playing in a Bradford League match on July 7. Captain of Farsley, he was a prolific wicket-taker in the League and had made spasmodic appearances for
Yorkshire in the early 1960s. An assistant coach with Yorkshire CCC, he held
course in Harrogate last winter which produced NCA coaching awards for
sixteen participants.
