Satyam Subash, an all-rounder with Concordia CC, who caught the eye of National Team Coach Gary Palmer, has been invited to play a trial game for Somerset CCC's 2nd XI against Lancashire 2nd XI, in Liverpool, having been part of the Austrian squad that took second place in last week's ECC Notts SportTM Trophy. This season Satyam has proven himself to be a regular choice for club and country, having made his full international début for Austria against Greece, scoring 70 against Luxembourg for the Austrian team as part of their group game, played at his home ground in Markommannenstrasse, Vienna.
Earlier in the season Satyam scored a century for Concordia CC against Vienna CC, and has proved a highly useful member of the Concordia CC team which has qualified for the semi-finals of the Austrian Open League. Obviously to have played second eleven cricket in England was something that had not been thought possible at the start of the season, but hopefully it could be the start of another chapter of cricketing history in Austria.
