Toss West Indies opt to bowl vs Pakistan
West Indies won the toss and elected to bowl in the second T20I against Pakistan at the Brian Lara Stadium in Tarouba. The hosts need to win the game to level the series after Pakistan had won the first ODI by five wickets.
West Indies made one change to their side, with allrounder Justin Greaves coming in for Romario Shepherd.
Pakistan, meanwhile, made three changes to their team. Fast bowler Naseem Shah, left-arm wristspinner Sufiyan Muqim and allrounder Faheem Ashraf all dropped to the bench, with Mohammad Nawaz, Hasan Ali and Abrar Ahmed taking their place.
West Indies, currently ranked tenth in ODI cricket, with qualification for 2027 only guaranteed to the top eight teams aside from hosts South Africa and Zimbabwe; with Zimbabwe well outside the top eight, West Indies realistically need to finish within the top nine - one place higher than they are - to secure automatic passage at the cut-off date.
Pakistan 1 Abdullah Shafique, 2 Saim Ayub, 3 Babar Azam, 4 Mohammad Rizwan (capt, wk), 5 Salman Agha, 6 Hasan Nawaz, 7 Hussain Talat, 8 Mohammad Nawaz, 9 Shaheen Afridi, 10 Hasan Ali, 11 Abrar Ahmad
West Indies 1 Brandon King, 2 Evin Lewis, 3 Keacy Carty, 4 Shai Hope (capt, wk), 5 Sherfane Rutherford, 6 Roston Chase, 7 Justin Greaves, 8 Gudakesh Motie, 9 Shamar Joseph, 10 Jayden Seales, 11 Jediah Blades
