Durham's Championship match against Surrey at Chester-le-Street has been scheduled to start a day earlier than advertised due to Durham's involvement in the Friends Provident Trophy Final on August 18.

Durham's Championship match against Surrey at Chester-le-Street has been scheduled to start a day earlier than advertised due to Durham's involvement in the Friends Provident Trophy Final on August 18.
The fixture, which was scheduled to start on August, will now start on August 13 to allow the team to travel to London in advance of their match at Lord's.The scheduled hours of play remain unchanged.
Subsequently, Durham's Pro40 match against Somerset at Taunton has been rescheduled to take place on August 23 instead of its original allocated date of August 19.

Chaminda Vaas will miss the third and final Test against Bangladesh at Kandy to return to Middlesex
Vaas, 33, joined Middlesex at the start of the English season, but returned home to play against Bangladesh and scored a maiden Test century in the first Test. With Sri Lanka having taken a decisive 2-0 lead in a one-sided series, Vaas was given permission to honour the rest of his contract with Middlesex.

Brian Lara is coming out of retirement for a one-off Twenty20 match in August, as part of the 125th-anniversary celebrations for his old club, Warwickshire. Lara, whose explosive batting helped lift the County Championship in a memorable 1994 season, will be joined by Allan Donald and his former captain, Dermot Reeve, in a Warwickshire Greatest Ever XI against a PCA Masters XI at Edgbaston on 31 August.

So, the CHASE Ben Hollioake Fund and Surrey are holding a fundraising London Bridges Walk on August 19. The six-mile walk starts at 10am at the Tower of London and costs £8 for adults, £4 for children. It ends at the Oval, where participants can watch Surrey v Derby in the Pro40 - for free. Bargain. Worcestershire have taken up their members' offers to help prepare New Road for Sunday. The clean-up will take place this Friday and Saturday. Members and supporters are asked if they can spare anything from an hour to a couple of hours at 10am on either of these days to help with the final clean-up.
Chief Executive, Mark Newton, said: "Much of the very heavy clear up is underway but we need help with wiping down the seats and fencing. Anybody who can help is asked to bring a bucket, hard bristle broom (if possible), cloths and sponges and their marigolds!
"If each person cleaned 50 seats and others a few fences, it wouldn't take long. The club will provide refreshments and we hope we can create a real spirit in the last push to see cricket start at 11am on Sunday."
Volunteers are asked to arrive on the ground at 10am or as soon after as possible.

Leicestershire are hoping to secure Jerome Taylor on a full contract for the second half of the season.
He is due to join the club on scholarship scheme organised by WICB and Digicel but Leicestershire are now trying to find full-time cover for RP Singh, the Indian left-armer, who is part of the touring squad.
Taylor played in three Tests against England earlier this season but isn't part of the one-day squad.

Neil McKenzie, the South Africa top-order batsman, will replace Cameron White for the latter part of the season. White is expected to be involved with either Australia's Twenty20 World Championship squad or the A tour to Pakistan.
