Ainsley Ndlovu

A left-arm spinner, Ainsley Ndlovu became the 27th bowler to take a wicket off his first ball in one-day international in 2019 when he dismissed Netherlands opener Tobias Visee.

Ndlovu had just turned 19 when he made his first-class debut during the 2014-15 Logan Cup season for Matabeleland Tuskers. In his sixth game, he picked up 6 for 47 against Mountaineers, finishing with a match haul of 9 for 106. In 2017, Ndlovu was picked in Zimbabwe's Africa T20 Cup squad where he made his T20 debut against KZN-Inland and took three wickets.

Ndlovu's first Zimbabwe call-up came in a home ODI series against UAE in April 2019, but he did not get a game there. It did not take him long to make his international debut, though, getting there two months later in an ODI against Netherlands. In September of that same year, Ndlovu made his T20I debut in a tri-nation series held in Bangladesh while he got his Test cap in January 2020 against Sri Lanka.

Ndlovu didn't make much of a splash in his initial games on the international front, but consistent domestic performances in the 2022-23 and 2023-24 seasons helped him push his case for a Zimbabwe recall.
