Italy's most successful captain ever. He skippered Cesena in 1992 and 1993 to two pennants and one Eurocup. He moved to Pianoro in 1994 leading them to two championships in 1994 and 1996 and one Eurocup in 1995. He is a sound defensive batsman in two-day cricket and bats in the middle order in the one-day game. He can occasionally bowl slow medium pace. Captain of Italy from July 1994, he has led the team on the tours of Holland, Argentina, Ireland, South Africa and Namibia plus the European Championships in Denmark in 1996.
