Bert Heairfield was a wicketkeeper and tailender who made his one first-class appearance for South Australia in an innings defeat against New South Wales in 1940-41. It was the last match played in Australia before World War Two stopped the first-class game, and with increasing numbers of players in the forces, South Australia gave three players their debut. Heairfield batted at No. 10, scoring 0 and 4* and taking one catch.
