A tall fast bowler from Barbados, Chemar Holder was a beneficiary of quicker pitches in the 2019-20 West Indies Championship after several seasons in which spin had dominated. He ended the season with 36 wickets at 18.91, putting him second on the wicket-takers charts as Barbados won the title.

Holder, who impressed in the final of the U-19 World Cup in 2016 when he took 1 for 20 in his 10 overs and West Indies overcame India, has been earmarked as one to watch for several years. He made his West Indies A debut in England in 2018, and the following home season took 15 wickets in three unofficial Tests at home to India A.
