Dinny Kemp was a brisk medium-pace bowler and middle-order batsman who played five times for Victoria in the mid 1930s with reasonable success, although four of the games were against Tasmania in what were regarded at the time as more gentle matches. In his second outing, at Hobart in 1932-33, he took 2 for 12 opening the bowling and then hit 114 batting at No. 7. That earned him his only Sheffield Shield appearance a month later, and although he played twice the following season, he was not considered again. A good all-round sportsman, he also represented his state at hockey.
