Rashada Williams

Rashada Williams, the wicketkeeper-batter, impressed the people that mattered with her batting right from her school-cricket days and continued to do so as she got to the professional circuit. An alumnus of Eltham High School, where Stafanie Taylor went to as well, Williams used to play with boys till the Inter-secondary Schools Sports Association, the governing body for high-school sports in Jamaica, barred her from doing so to shield her.

Williams is not a power-hitter and her game is built on finding gaps in the field to score her runs. She received her maiden West Indies call-up for the tour of Pakistan in 2019, but had to wait a couple of years for her debut, which came in an ODI against Pakistan at home in July 2021. Later that year, Williams outscored the likes of Deandra Dottin and Hayley Matthews in the ODIs at home against South Africa despite playing in only three of the five matches. She scored her maiden half-century in internationals in that series, and earned the praise of the then head coach, Courtney Walsh, who called her "the find of the series".

In 2022, Williams was among those to receive development contracts from Cricket West Indies. The same year, she made her T20I debut and was included in West Indies' squad for the T20 World Cup 2023 as their primary wicketkeeper. She also captained West Indies A on their tour of Pakistan in November 2023 and was part of Barbados Royals in the Women's Caribbean Premier League in 2023 and 2024.
