Matthew Hoggard has hinted that he might be prepared to leave Yorkshire at the end of the summer when his current contract expires.
Speaking to the Yorkshire Post, Hoggard said that while he had been offered a new deal, he wanted to keep his options open before committing to anything.
"I'm not ruling it out," he said. "I'd have to work out what's best for me and what's best for my family, but it's not impossible I could be playing somewhere else next year. Obviously, cricket is my job and you've got to go where the work is, and if I'm not getting any work up here, so to speak, then it's possible I might have to go and look for it elsewhere.
"I don't want to leave because I love playing for Yorkshire and I'm a Yorkshireman though and through, but, at the same time, cricket is my job and I've got to provide a living for my family. I very much hope I'll be able to come to an agreement with Yorkshire because the club has been a huge part of my life … the players, the fans, everyone up here is brilliant."
Hoggard is believed to be annoyed that he has not featured in Yorkshire's one-day side this season. "I like to be in charge of my future rather than the other way round."
