• Matches will be played on a knockout basis
  • Each team of 08 consist 6 players including 2 substitutes
  • Each player will have to bowl an over excluding the wicket keeper. Please note the person assigned as the wicket keeper at the commencement of the match, would be called upon to bowl only if a match ends in a tie to decide the winner. However, if at the end of the over bowled by the wicket keeper ends in a tie , then a toss of a coin will decide the winner,
  • In the event there is a tie in the final the winner will be decided on a bowl out method (6 balls each for a side, and only 3 bowlers will get 02 balls each) if that ends up in a tie the toss of a coin will decide the winner.
  • Wicket keeper must wear pads and wicket keeping gloves
  • Under arm bowling will not be permitted
  • WIDES will be counted as 4 runs  to the batting side and an  additional ball will have to be bowled
  • NO Balls (overstepping) will be counted as 4 runs to the batting side and a free hit will be given. (New rule) In the event of a no ball for bowler overstepping, a free hit is allowed. in a free hit, the batsman will not be out by any means except by run out. A free hit will apply to the next delivery after a bowler either oversteps with his front foot or if his back foot cuts or does not land within the return crease. 24.2 Free Hit after a foot-fault no ball... the delivery following a no ball called for a foot fault (Law 24.5) shall be a free hit for whichever batsman is facing it. If the delivery for the free hit is not a legitimate delivery (any kind of no ball or a wide ball) then the next delivery will become a free hit for whichever batsman is facing it.
  • All Umpires and Scorers will be officiated by the Association of Cricket Umpires and scorers Sri Lanka.
  • In case of any reason weather or otherwise affecting the conduct of the tournament, The organizing committee and the Technical committee reserve the right to decide the manner in which the tournament should be conducted
  • All matters out side the Jurisdiction of the umpires shall be decided by the Technical committee of the tournament.
  • The technical committee reserves the right to disqualify any team from the tournament in case objections are filed in written pertaining to players nominated from the schools, who would not be participating members of the school team during the school cricket calendar season 2009-2010.
