Here's DC coach Hemang Badani's take: "There's also the salary cap that increases every year. Every side has to spend that kind of money. Speaking of 120 crores that a side has today, multiplied by ten, is the money that has to be spent by these sides. No side wants to take their money and say, 'I've had a saving and I have a shaving and I'm happy with that.' Everyone here wants to spend the money, everyone wants to make sure that they have the players that they want.

"No franchise is shying away from spending money. Everyone's happy to go back home with a nil balance. Also, the way the game's gone by, with the younger kids there's no baggage. The older experienced person, at times, yes, has the experience, but there are poor experiences that he can fall back on. But the young boy has had so much of talent and so much of enthusiasm in the starting of his career, and that gets into the IPL, and that's why you see so many young kids. It's new for me to see Prashant Veers, Karthik Sharmas and all of them. They're the most expensive uncapped Indian players and that just pretty much tells you what it is."
