TEAMS

Hodgkinson made her debut in 2000 against England, a side she played 16 times in her first 32 ODIs. On her first tour, a closely-fought series in England, she aggregated 49 from four matches, her top score being 32 in a game South Africa won by a wicket. She was promoted to the opening spot in the World Cup that year but after four poor games was pushed down to No. 7 where she did reasonably well with a 49-ball 22. She replaced Cindy Eksteen as the captain in South Africa's tour of England in 2003 and made two half-centuries on the tour - 95 in a drawn Test and 52 not out in a nine-wicket ODI defeat. Though England won that series and the return one, Hodgkinson was retained as the captain for the 2003 World Cup. South Africa won one match and after losing the home series to West Indies the same year she was dropped from the team.

In 2008, Hodgkinson returned to national reckoning when she was picked in a training squad for the World Cup.
