TEAMS

A skillful medium-pacer, Dane Paterson is a deceptive bowler. He uses neither speed nor great swing to get his way and flew under the radar at the Cobras, where he did not burn up the wicket-takers' charts. Still, national management was impressed with Paterson's wiles and he was included in various South Africa A campaigns, where he was fairly successful.

Paterson made his international debut in a T20 against Sri Lanka in January 2017, played against New Zealand in Auckland in February and in England in June. He took a career-best 4 for 32 in Cardiff, where he earned significant praise for his death-bowling exploits. Paterson was included as cover in South Africa's Test squad to Bangladesh in September-October 2017 and made his ODI debut against the same opposition in October.
