Ollie Robinson - not to be confused with another Kent academy product of the same name who went on to play for Yorkshire and Sussex - earned his first professional contract in September 2017 after deputising with the gloves on several occasions.
Robinson was born in Sidcup and attended Hurstmere School before studying for A Levels at Chislehurst and Sidcup Grammar School. He played age group cricket for Kent, scoring 251 for the under-17 side during 2016, and was awarded a place in Kent's cricket academy in 2014.
He made his debut for the senior Kent team in their final match of the Regional Super50 in the West Indies in 2017, against West Indies under-19s. He was named in the England under-19 squad for a series of matches against India under-19s and again against South Africa the following summer.
He made his first-class cricket debut for Kent in August 2018 at Leicester in the first of three Championship games.
Robinson became a fixture in all three formats for Kent in 2019, his red-ball season being the most successful. He scored 765 runs in 14 Championship matches, including two centuries and three fifties, with a highest score of 143 against Warwickshire at Edgbaston in April.
