An young opening batsman who made his debut for Western Province in the 1996/97 season. Maron was not able to sustain his place in the side, but with the departure of West Indian import Desmond Haynes, he will be looking to establish himself at the top of the order, alongside the likes of Gary Kirsten, Herschelle Gibbs and Jacques Kallis.
