8:20pm: That is that. Many thanks for tuning in and do come back for the second ODI on Monday. Till then, cheerio.
8:10pm: Presentation
Chigumbura: The way we played today we made a lot of mistakes and gave away boundaries towards the end. We then kept losing wickets. Obviously, lot of work needs to be done. It was a good decision to bowl first but we did not take the opportunity. We did not apply ourselves when we went out to bat. Other than Jongwe, we did not play ourselves in.
Mashrafe: I am still not 100% but I have worked hard. I am happy the team is winning and winning is a good habit. Mushfiq the run machine stepped up. I thought it was a good total and once again the bowling was brilliant with Shakib. He got his five wicket first time and I like to congratulate him and hopefully, we keep it going.
Mushfiqur, Man of the Match: We needed a big partnership. Credit goes to Tamim and Liton also chipped in. It made it easier for me. I scored in the practice match as well and I was confident.
8pm:The celebrations begin full swing in Mirpur with the fans waving the Bangladesh flag vigorously and dancing in the aisles. The hosts thump Zimbabwe by 145 runs.
Jonge ignited the chase of 274 with some adventurous hits. Enter Shakib. He showed subtle variations in flight and rattled Zimbabwe with his first five-for in ODIs. Mashrafe and Al-Amin proved able helping hands with the Bangladesh captain passing 200 ODI wickets. Chigumbura then lent some resistance before he was the last man dismissed. To add to Zimbabwe's woes, Mutumbami has ankle edema and needs seven days to recover.
Shakib: "I thought there was a little bit for spinners. I put the ball in the right areas and I was lucky. I believe in luck but I had to work hard. I know I had to contribute in two departments. Playing at home is a big advantage. We have showed our improvement to our world."
Moahammad Mahbu: "Congratulations to Bangladesh team & special thanks to hasan' musi & mash"
