4,00 pm Sri Lanka are handed the trophy and they savour a well-deserved series win. Join us on February 12 when these two sides are at it again during the first T20. Until then, it is goodbye
Angelo Mathews says "They batted well, but I think we could play another Test on this wicket right now. The pitch didn't do much and once the ball got soft there was nothing in it for the seamers. Bangladesh have really improved from the last game. They did pretty well though the bowlers had very little help. Not really [about the delayed declaration], it was a good pitch and they could have gone for it [if the target was too small]. We bowled pretty well and they didn't show much intent about going for the target"
Kumar Sangakkara who scored a triple-century and followed it with a rapid ton is declared the Man of the Match Easy decision considering his 424 runs in the Test, the third highest in Test history. And to make it even sweeter, Sanga is the Player of the Series as well. "I think the wicket was pretty good to bat and my job was to score as many runs for the side. All the batsmen when they walk out, the main idea is to bat long and makes sure there's a foundation upon which the team can build and that's what we did. It is my first triple, so that's special. Not probably one of my difficult hundreds, but in terms of concentration this was up there. Hopefully I play a few more Tests before I call it a day. My career is probably in the twilight. Few more Tests and a few more wins and I'll be very happy"
Mushfiqur Rahim says "It was needed badly and the boys stuck to the task and delivered. Especially with the bat with Imrul and Shamsur in the first innings and Mominul in the second. It's a day five wicket and the way the boys applied themselves in the second innings and we carry on this momentum into the ODI and T20 series. [Regarding his injury] I will go have an X-ray and scan tomorrow and hopefully I'm ready"
3.40 pm Bangladesh's batsmen have added to the tumult of runs in this Test. The pitch wasn't quite straightforward but the top order has stood up and said they were good enough. Gritty century from Mominul, but the openers had set things up in the first session playing extremely judicious cricket. Sri Lanka ensured they could not lose yesterday and did all they could to pick up victory today but some good, solid Test-match batting helped Bangladesh get away with this. But the visitors do win the series 1-0. Stay tuned for the presentation
Rakib: "What really pleased me that BD batsman showed real intent and temperment. None of the batsman throwed their wickets. That can not be said even for first innings. Congrats to tigers! Thanks to Team SL and Sangakara."
