Misbah: "If we had 50-70 runs more in Cape Town, that was the chance we had to win a match. There is a chance for us in the one-dayers. Batting-wise we are disappointed.

Kyle Abbott is the Man of the Match: "I will go home tomorrow and reflect on everything. It still hasn't sunken in. Its been an awesome few days with the team. I didn't think too much about taking wickets. Kept it as simple as possible."

AB de Villiers is the Man of the Series: "I am really enjoying the challenge of batting and keeping. It's just a lot of hard work, catching a lot of balls. I have worked hard with the management team, we are pulling in the same direction. I really enjoyed this series, its nice to know we played like the No.1 team in the world."

Smith: "We were really looking forward to playing in front of our own fans. It was great to see the turnouts. We are hoping to achieve more. Very proud to be the first captain to 50 Test wins, very proud that it is a South African who has got there. I said before that depth was going to be a key factor in us staying No.1. And that showed here. When we go to the UAE to play Pakistan, it will be our first challenge of the new season

and we hope to do well there."

That's it from us here. Thanks for your company. The cricket continues. Cheers!

End of the match: 50 Test wins for Graeme Smith! South Africa have won all five home Tests this summer, to go with their 2-0 sweep of New Zealand. They're No.1 and sure know how to stay there.

Umer Rana : "The openers were sitting ducks against brand new cherry, the middle order was brittle, always a collapse loomed around the corner. The tail was searching for a place to hide for a cover. The arduous tale of Pakistani batting on this tour so far."

Emmad Hameed: "Foreign coaches and whitewashes since 1999, Richard Pybus Australia 1999, Pybus again vs Australia and South Africa 2002-3... Bob Woolmer against Australia 2004-05 and now Dav Whatmore 2013.... They sure bring consistency in our ranks!!"

Pakistan showed some fight at Newlands but their resistance wasn't enough to prevent a 3-0 sweep. This series has lasted a total of 11 days out of 15. Shows how SA have dominated.

Just a year ago, Pakistan inflicted a 3-0 sweep on the No1 team in the world at the time, England. Now, they have suffered at the hands of the current No.1 team. Sport can do funny things to you. South Africa are undefeated for 15 consecutive Tests.

Waiting for the announcements. Unfortunately we do not have television coverage of the presentation.

Peterson to Rahat Ali, OUT
Given out lbw and Pakistan want to use their final review, drifts inwards, lands outside off, he is on the back foot, the ball skids through and hits his pads, close to the bat, Hot Spot shows no edge and Hawk Eye says that was hitting leg. It's all over. SA win by an innings and 18 runs and take the series 3-0
Rahat Ali lbw b Peterson 22 (46m 27b 5x4 0x6) SR: 81.48
Peterson to Rahat Ali, no run
inside edge to the pads and it drops short of short leg
Peterson to Rahat Ali, no run
big swing and a miss and AB fails to gather that properly
Peterson to Rahat Ali, 4 byes
a few more of these and SA will be batting again, floated outside leg, makes room, swings and the ball just misses the leg stump, beats AB
Peterson to Rahat Ali, no run
stays back at the crease and he defends back to the bowler
Peterson to Rahat Ali, FOUR runs
short outside off and he rocks back and thrashes it to sweeper cover, see you later...

And it will be Robin Peterson! Patience has run out on Abbott

Steyn to Mohammad Irfan, no run
and finally something on the stumps! He does well to dig it out
Steyn to Mohammad Irfan, no run
Appeal for a caught behind and he's been given not out and Smith is reviewing it, short down the leg side, he was backing away, swung at it one handed and this wasn't close to the edge and glove, desperate attempt to wrap it up, SA lose their reviews
Steyn to Mohammad Irfan, no run
sort one straight on the chest! Irfan doesn't flinch
Steyn to Rahat Ali, 1 leg bye
another short one on the on side and the ball deflects off his body to the on side
Steyn to Rahat Ali, no run
he stays back and knocks it to the off side
Steyn to Mohammad Irfan, 1 run
bangs it in short on the body and he awkwardly fends it over short leg

Will Smith persist with Abbott? He must be annoyed

Abbott to Mohammad Irfan, 1 run
this was full outside the off stump and he easily squirts it past gully
Abbott to Mohammad Irfan, no run
stifled appeal for an lbw, fired this down the leg side, that would have hit the fifth stump!

James: "Philander could go an innings without a wicket! Hell might just freeze over."

Abbott to Mohammad Irfan, no run
can somehow never get it on the stumps, Irfan pokes his bat out and nearly edges it
Abbott to Mohammad Irfan, no run
this was fuller outside the off stump and he swings and misses
Abbott to Mohammad Irfan, no run
this was full and wide and keeping low, merely watches it through to the keeper

Karnain: "Come on Smith, forget about these 2 bowler's miles stones & think about your own one. 50th test victory, don't delay it & bring back Peterson"

Abbott to Mohammad Irfan, no run
absolutely no footwork and yet he manages to defend, Abbott looks tired
