4:22pm Right, that is it. Stumps. We've lost 48 minutes and 22.5 overs today. Which isn't encouraging given we have rain forecast for the next three days. Engrossing cricket through the day though. Sri Lanka took the early advantage as Pakistan's surprising bowling combination took time to get into rhythm. But when they did, a collapse followed. From 96 for 0, Sri Lanka fell to 127 for 4. It took a steadying hand from Angelo Mathews and Dhananjaya de Silva to keep Sri Lanka from further damage until the former threw it away. Pakistan have been disciplined since the start of the second session, but they are, at the moment, also without Shaheen Afridi who went off with an injury. We'll have to wait to see how he's doing tomorrow. Stick around for the end of day report from Danyal Rasool. We'll see you tomorrow at 9.15.

Salil: "How is close of play (16:45) so close to sunset (17:00). Not even allowance for extra half hour. Can't they start early?" --- Early starts may well happen from here on. Usually that's a 30 minute allowance at the start of play.

Hammad: "As almost session of the Match will be played under lights every day , this could easily have been a pink ball test match"

Stephen: "As over rates are increasingly important as they can lose you points in the WTC, how many overs must you bowl before you are deducted points? Or is it completely discretionary? " --- 120 overs in total. If you bowl a team out in under 60 overs in one of the innings, that innings is exempt from calculations. If you don't bowl 60 overs in the entire match, you are exempt from penalties too.

Zubair Islam: "Bowling full 90 overs in winter at rwp.....dream, even if u have spinners bowling. may be 80 r possible"

4:13pm The umpires have gotten together and deemed that the light is no longer good enough. Players will be going off. All floodlights have been on for a few hours now. So I can't see how the natural light could get any better. We're just about 45 minutes away from scheduled sunset in Rawalpindi.

Ali Nawaz Khan: "Pakistan won't be bowling more than 80 overs today. Does that mean a Ban for Azhar Ali? " --- No more bans for captains. But they will calculate at the end of the match to see if Pakistan bowled 15 overs per hour across both innings (if they bowl 120 overs in total). For every over they are short, they will lose two points from their WTC total. And for every over, each player in the team will get a 20% fine, up to a maximum of 100%.

Tim: "Just tuned in. Great to see cricket being played in Pakistan again. But what has happened? Why is the over rate so atrocious? Has something happened?" --- Nothing really. But they're playing four fast bowlers and that doesn't help.
